Transition Information Dear Parents, The Saxe Middle School Administration invites all current fourth grade parents to attend an orientation and tour on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in the Saxe Auditorium. The goal of this event is to provide information about the transition process and school expectations for your fifth grade student in the fall. Saxe Family Night Dinner and a Movie Fundraiser for the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome May 31, 2013
The entire New Canaan Community is invited to join the Saxe Tech Team and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome staff on Friday, May 31 2013 for an evening of early flight at Saxe Middle School. The night will feature a World War I aeroplane on the front lawn of Saxe Middle School. Former Saxe student and film maker, Devin Pickering will show an original movie entitled “Aerodrome”. There are two movie showings: The first at 6:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30. If you choose the 6:30 movie time, enjoy dinner at 7:30 in the Saxe Cafeteria. If you choose the 7:30 movie, dinner will be served at 6:30. Movie goers will be able to stroll through a mini-museum about the early days of flight before enjoying dinner and conversation with docents and pilots from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. There will also be a silent auction including a lifetime membership to the Aerodrome, weekend passes to the Aerodrome, open cockpit bi-plane rides and a handmade airplane themed quilt. Tickets are $25 per person. The Saxe Tech Team is partnering with the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome and will become young “Docents” and help out with aircraft care and maintenance this season. The Team has some surprises to show at this year’s fundraiser. Help us help the museum preserve 20th Century Technology using 21st Century Technology. We are looking forward to raising $30,000 to restore a World War I aircraft to flight status. Please help us by purchasing tickets for dinner and a movie or by donating directly at Aerodrome Fundrasier. You may also send a check made out Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Museum and send it to the attention of Lisa Jarosik, Principal’s Secretary in the Main Office. If you would like to donate an item to the auction, you may contact Lisa as well. Thank you and we look forward to a successful evening!

After School Activities The Spring session of After School Activities is now open for registration! PANORAMIC PHOTO UPDATE! Panoramic Photo Day has been moved to Wednesday, May 29th. Students will receive an order form the week before the picture date. Photos are laminated and cost $20 which is given to the photographer at the time picture is taken. Students will recieve the picture the last week of school.
